Nat’s love of music has nagged at them since their middle school days. They started off with theatre in high school, composing pieces for the different shows the school put on. “I went to college and got a BA in psychology, kind of forgot about music, and really gave myself to singing in the shower”, Nat laughingly said. A few years later, Nat and a friend attended an AG Cook show in LA that caused them to eventually come back to their love of music. Nat began making music in Garage Band and released their first song a month or two later.

When asked to describe their music, Nat explained, “The three remixes I have made are all hyper pop, that’s my favorite genre of music to actually listen to”. Nat’s original music combines flavors of Hyper pop, Trip hop, Dream pop, and Goth rock, along with inspiration from artists like Dorian Electra, Charli XCX, and SOPHIE. Mixing and mashing these styles, along with some 80’s and club influences, Nat has a Halloween album in the works. Allowing for spooky and mysterious production, Nat’s songs would be the perfect soundtrack to your annual Halloween party. When describing the album Nat said, “There’s going to be two songs about Lucifer, a few monster songs, and then one of them is a sexy vampire song”. Nat has plans to perform the album live but has also been playing around with the idea of a zoom concert due to the world’s circumstances.

In the meantime, Nat continues to produce music, attend virtual open mic nights, as well as, concerts via twitch and zoom to keep sane during these times of isolation. We spoke a lot about mental, emotional, and physical health during this quarantine, in addition to tips and tricks to stay sane. Nat explained that they were diagnosed with Bipolar depression and they said, “I could have never achieved this much musically off my meds. A lot of people think mania is responsible for their creativity, but it’s not. Look at me go! On meds everyday”.

Nat’s inspiring journey and perseverance is incredibly electrifying and it all completely shows through their music.
